Handbook - Installation of the EMC

Installation can be a daunting task to people new to Linux. The hardest part is getting the Real Time Linux patch up and running. After that, installing EMC is pretty easy. With that said, most people have found that the easiest way to install Real Time Linux and EMC is to go to Tim Goldstein's web page and use his install script for EMC on the linux 2.0.36 release. Or you can find or order a copy of the BDI install cdrom that was produced by Paul Corner. This disk installs Linux 2.2.18 and Real Time Linux 3.0 and comes with a recent EMC release.

There are three directories below this.

Some of the installation descriptions do not fit that model.  They cover both the real time and EMC install and are specific to one destribution of Linux.  They are included here and referenced in the index pages for each of the subdirectories.
