This view displays the assemblies described in the STEP exchange file. The nodes of an assembly tree are each a version of a product as represented by an EXPRESS entity product_definition_formation. The key simplification offered by this view is that the assembly-to-component relationship, encoded in the exhange file through the entity next_assembly_usage_occurrence connecting instances of product_definition is represented by a single node to node connections (via the unique id attribute) in the DOM tree of the model.

Each version element of the XML content contains subelements containing the product data from the product_definition_formation and product entities (the id, name, and description attributes).
